Call For Prayer
Posted on February 17th, 2009Disturbing news has come out in this last week concerning the pro-choice movement and their emboldened actions against peaceful pro-lifers who are involved in public sidewalk ministry. It feels that since the elections, pro-choice forces feel they have a newfound mandate to press their agenda through the actual restraint of freedom of speech activities of pro-choicers. As discouraging this new wave of belligerence may seem, I believe that the pro-choice movement are overplaying their hand…
This election was not a referendum on abortion; it was a referendum on the economy. This has been played out obviously in a recent poll showing that of all of the things President Obama did in his first week in his presidency, only 35% approved of his radical decisions to promote abortions with government financing. Clearly, spiritual powers are seizing the day to influence the few elite power brokers in high places in order to persecute and strong-arm their opposition.
In Birmingham, pro-life activists handing out materials on a public sidewalk in front of a public school, were forcefully and painfully handcuffed and hauled away to jail. Birmingham, the place of the freedom walks, has now again become a place where injustice is exposed as sheriffs brutalize innocent protestors standing for the cause the unborn.
In Oakland, a black man is facing possible jail time for seeking to save babies and help mothers in front of an abortion clinic. He is facing a possible two-year jail term. I thank God for a African American prophet to take a stand for the ending of abortion. May this man’s stand provoke the conscience of African American leaders to once again reclaim their prophetic calling to lead the nation for justice! Black Americans have received a sense of redemption in this past election of President Obama, now let them be the Presidents “conscience” as well as his encouragers. Abraham Lincoln, who in his early years equivocated on the issue of slavery, was challenged by a prophet named Frederick Douglass. My God raise up a Frederick Douglass for President Obama on behalf of the unborn.
We call pro-life organizations to pray for Campus Life Survivors in Birmingham, that their prophetic witness would not be stomped out by a new form of bigotry. We also request prayer for Pastor Walter Hoye in Oakland as he goes to court on February 19th. We pray that their voices would ring out all across America and something would take place that the media could not ignore. It’s time to let justice role down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Pro-life pastor prepares for sentencing
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 2/15/2009 4:10:00 AM
An Oakland, California, pastor could face jail time for expressing his pro-life views.
Pastor Walter Hoye ran into trouble with an abortion clinic while doing an informational picket. Dennis Howard, leader of The Movement for a Better America, believes Hoye is innocent. ”His approach was simply to carry a sign that said ‘Jesus Loves You. Can We Help?’ and offering those who wanted it some information about alternatives to abortion,” Howard explains. A complaint was filed and Hoye was found guilty in spite of proof to the contrary. “There was a video taken of him doing this, and it shows that he was not harassing anybody,” Howard points out. “In fact, he was being harassed by escorts from the abortion clinic.” Pastor Hoye faces up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine. Howard is calling Christians into action. “We feel that pro-life organizations around the country ought to take up this man’s cause and pray and fast between now and February 19,” he concludes. That is when Hoye is due to be sentenced.
